Fake news is a topic of which politicians either warn or are *annoyed* by. Social media platforms are intending to *flag* *up* fake news better. Such false news is primarily *distributed* via the Internet and there are different reasons for it.<\/p>\n\n

One reason is the influence of political debates, as fakes news can actually reinforce *existing* views. A major problem is that people often form beliefs and opinions without considering the facts. Hence, it is often stated that we are living in a *post-factual* age. The fear that voters might be influenced in some way is prevalent.<\/p>\n\n

One other reason why people are spreading fake news is *money*. Users can be redirected to pages *brimming* with advertisements, which results in a cash flow for the originator of the fake news.<\/p>\n\n

Nevertheless, there are ways to uncover fake news. There are different *websites*, which help to check news or \u2013 if there is little time \u2013 one should at least always check the *sources* of the \u201cnews\u201d. Usually, *well-known* newspapers don\u2019t publish fake news; therefore, these sources are reliable.
